5. The Speech to Inform 2-5 minutes Graded 2 Sources
6. The Speech to Stimulate or Arouse 3-5 minutes Graded 3 Sources
7. The Speech to Convince 3-5 minutes Graded 3 Sources
8. The New Invention Speech 2-5 minutes Graded
Speeches #2 to #8 must be accompanied by an outline. Sources
for speeches #5, #6, and #7 must be listed on the outline in a standard
bibliography form.
READINGS
1. Reading Nonfiction Material 3-5 minutes Graded
2. Reading Fictional Material 3-5 minutes Graded
3. Reading Poetry 3-5 minutes Graded
4. Reading Children's Story 3-5 minutes Graded
All readings must have an introduction
DISCUSSION 5 minutes per group member 2 Grades - Group/Individual
Late speeches will lose a grade per day late (1 day = A becomes
a B, 2 days=A becomes a C).
An incomplete assignment at the end of the quarter will result in an
F for the quarter. If the assignment in not completed by the end
of the semester, the student will receive an F for the semester.
Speech is a graduation requirement. Failure to pass the course will
result either in repeating the course or in failing to graduate.
Activities will be used throughout the semester which will be graded Pass/Fail.
Pass will not effect the grade, but fail will be averaged into the grade.
